Vocational Services / Supported Employment Program

The JBS Vocational Rehabilitation Program is partnership with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. The objective of the Program is to assist individual with a serious Mental Illness develop job seeking skills and to reach their employment goals. The program provides participants with assistance that includes but is not limited to the following areas:

- Identifying individual needs

- Assess interest in employment

- Resume development

- Interview skills

- Completing applications

- Job analysis

- Accessing public transportation

The JBS Vocational Rehabilitation Program is open to developing partnership with business in the community that have an interest in providing individuals with mental illness employment opportunities. To support the initiative the VRS Program works with potential employers to provide community-based assessments, job development, and job coaching. In addition, the program is committed to working with other Social Service providers to extend support to best meet the employment needs of the individuals served.
